Amount deposited by me in my brother's fixed deposit account

09-Dec-2023 (In Property Law)

Sir, can a person claim his/her share in the Fixed Deposit Amount held by his/her brother if the Amount was not earned by the brother but was actually deposited in his name by their Parents in order to avoid Tax? The brother has never worked all his life, so is there a way to legally claim a share in his Bank Deposits? Also the source of money is unknown till date.

No, you cannot claim the Amounts of the Fixed Deposit. The holder of th FD is the sole owner or the Nominee can claim (if Nominee appointed) you have no right over it.
