Hi
Since the land belongs to your grand father (vide original sale deed) and the adangal patta is in your father's name, both your grand father and father can execute a registered gift deed in your favour, to complete the transfer.
The Gift deed needs to be registered at the Sub-registrar office after payment of stamp duty and registration charges.
Since it is a gift deed executed within the family, the stamp duty and registration charges are very minimal (about 4% of market value of property).
There are other ways of transfer such as issuing No objection certificate to Revenue office and making transfer in adangal and patta in your name. However these are contentious transfer of the property in case your father has brothers and sisters and like wise if you have brothers and sisters.
The best and safest way to effect a transfer is through Registered Gift deed.
