Sold car to someone without paperwork two died in accident what to do

Dear sir I was sold my car in 2012 but papers were not transferred, buyer of the car give his vehicle to his friend, his drunk friend rammed car on the pavement, two rug pickers sleeping road side died on spot. How cud I safeguard myself as RC is on my name and insurance is also expired. Pl help
Do u have any written document for sale of ur car???, even if papera r not transferred if have any written paper, u can show it in the court and face the trial. If there is no insurance and if the accused/driver is not available to court, Prima facie the liability is at owner, but u can try to prove during trial that u have sold the car.
