Sold bike but buyer did not transfer it to his name now FIR filed
09-Jan-2023 (In Motor Accident Law)
Where this incident happened? Could you get that CCTV footage? Any receipt or any agreement between two parties on the time of selling? Like Bank transaction or any other documents... have to prove your presence somewhere else and file case against that person.

Yes, it is illegal to buy a bike and not register it under your name before selling it to someone else in India. As per Section 39 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 it is mandatory to register any motor vehicle with the local Regional Transport Office (RTO) before it can be legally driven on public roads. Failing to register the bike under your name before selling it to another person can result in legal consequences, such as fines and penalties. Additionally, the buyer of the bike will not have a legal ownership title of the vehicle, which can cause problems in case of any disputes or accidents involving the bike.
Therefore, it is highly recommended that you register the bike under your name before selling it to someone else to avoid any legal issues and ensure that the buyer has a legal ownership title of the vehicle.
