Met with accident other party claiming for compensastion

i was on my bike another bike came from the street without any horn or indicator, they were tripling ,i rushed n to their bike and the middle person got fractured her leg.we took her to hospital and the expense was 2000 they demanded 5000 and we gave it then after 3 month they came again and were asking 15000 we denied and they lodged a complaint against us.we got a call from police station and they told they will claim the insurance from it but the insurance is expired.They were ready for the compromise for 25000 and we were ready to give but finally they denied and now asking 1LAC.
You are liable to pay compensation for the loss suffered by him due to the accident. In case your insurance of the vehicle has expired then you will only be held responsible for the compensation. The victim of the accident can claim for compensation but putting an claim in Motor accidental claim tribunal and whatever the tribunal thinks fit the amount of compensation is valid to recover from the loss by the victim, you will only be liable to pay such compensation.
