Case filed against me to claim compensation in motor accident case

13-Mar-2023 (In Motor Accident Law)
On 1st May 2015, I was involved in a minor motor accident which led to the hospitalisation of a fish vendor. The woman was 68 years old and she was crossing the road recklessly and did not stop even though i blared the horn for a good 5-6 seconds. This resulted in the minor accident on a Sunday evening. The woman has now, March 2017, filed an application for compensation under Section 166 of the M.V act and the Workmen's Compensation Act 1923, and demanding Rs. 6 Lakhs as compensation from me for personal health issues. Does her case hold any grounds? I was told by the police officer that night that i will be summoned to the court after a few months to pay a small fine of Rs. 500. I want to get legal advice for my case.

There are two you refer here are , whether can she claim compensation from you or not? My answer is yes of course she has the right to claim compensation for her injuries and mental health and future Medicare expenses from the insurance company that ur vehicle was insured if not insured u are the one is liable to pay the compensation that would be the tribunel's order. U r told by the police officials that is the procedure of criminal liability not the tortious liability. That also would be done. That's all come soon
