Under section 279 of IPC, any person guilty for rash driving is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine or which may extend to Rs. 1,000, or with both.
Under section 304A, person guilty for causing death by negligence shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine or with both.
Since a criminal case is pending against you therefore you might face difficulty in getting the police verification done if required for the purposes of Government job. You should hire a good lawyer and defend the case.
