Amrapali homebuyers pleaded before the Yogi Adityanath government

September 15, 2017

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister issued direction to officials for much effective work plan to ensure 50,000 flats available to the buyers in the next three months. Following which the Amrapali homebuyers have sent a big message to the Yogi government pleading not to involve the Confederation of Real Estate Developer of India(CREDAI) in the process.

The home buyers in the message have sought written assurance from developers for the completion of projects within the stipulated timeline. “ Even after so many cases of defaulter builders, CREDAI has not taken any action in favour of home buyers,” Rahul Kumar, who has bought a flat in the Amrapali Dream Valley project, said.

A delegation of home buyers from various Amrapali projects will soon meet the state's urban housing minister Suresh Khanna. “ We will ask the government to bring in National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) and Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) to take over all the unfinished projects of Amrapali,” Kumar added.

On Tuesday, CREDAI submitted recommendations to the CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on the co-developer and investors policy for the delayed projects or the defaulting builders. The CM also asked developers to ensure that 50,000 apartments are delivered in the next three months, directing the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities to facilitate the delivery process. The state government has also formed a committee of experts to conduct audits of builders and their incomplete projects.

Homebuyers also seek clarification regarding the future of projects where only 20% construction has been done and also where construction is yet to begin. “ So many FIRs have been filed against Amrapali, no action has been taken yet& hellip Some of us have been waiting for the possession of our flats for the past seven years,” another home buyer said.
