GNIDA is considering to shift Amrapali's homebuyers plaints to RERA

August 17, 2017

Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority(GNIDA) is considering to shift the affected home buyers in Amrapali projects to Real Estate Development Authority (RERA). This is so because, the realtor, Amrapali is not submitting its financial records to the authority. Rajiv Kumar, UP Chief Secretary has also summoned the status report of all Amrapali projects on August 17. The realtor has to deliver 27,000 units in Greater Noida West area.

GNIDA has been repeatedly asking the builder to provide with details of all the projects in the city. Unless the GNIDA has complete information on the status and the financial position of the realtor, no concrete legal action can be taken against the builder. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered audit of all ongoing projects.

GNIDA additional CEO BK Tripathi mentioned, “ We are discussing the financial issues in detail and seeking advice from our legal department. We have been constantly asking the builder to provide us with its financial details but have received incomplete information. We are also not sure if the information is accurate. That is why we want to refer the matter to RERA so that GNIDA can be appointed as the competent authority to take further action. If RERA intervenes, GNIDA could get more teeth to take some strict action against the builder. Amrapali group is a big defaulter and owes the Authority nearly Rs 2,000 crore. There is a dire need to conduct an account audit of the company to find out how the firm intends to complete its projects, deliver homes to its buyers and how it intends to pay our dues.”
