Delhi High Court- Litigants will now be informed of defects in cases via email

On Friday, the Delhi High Court has notified that the lawyers and litigants-in-person will now be provided with details of defects in their cases via email in addition to the SMS alerts that are currently sent out.

In order to avail this facility, the lawyers and litigants in person are required to register themselves with the e-filing software. The registration facility is available at the e-Filing Centre- I, Room No.- 4, Ground Floor, Lawyer's Chambers Block-1, Delhi High Court.

The lawyers and litigants are required to register their e-mail and mobile number, in order to get requisite information via e-mail and SMS.

For registration, the lawyers are required to submit self-attested photocopy of proof of address and proof of identity.

Technology heralds the dawn of the new era in the legal profession. The Indian Judicial system with the help of technology is aiming to reduce the backlog of cases. In recent times, the government has taken a plethora of actions in order to deliver swifter justice in India.

Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal has taken this reformatory decision on the recommendation of information technology committee.
