What is the remedy in case security deposit not refunded by landlord

after 11 months in 2016 (January to November) agreement completion landlord demand to vacant the room on December 2016 and i vacant it on 13th of January 17 i asking for deposit amount to him than that time he say your 2 month of rant still pending but the other side i pay him all the rent in same month and his room is not in good condition when i agreement i do all the necessary things witch is required to living in room and he commit me i'll pay on after completion of agreement on 11th month but he not do as per words

In case there was no clause in the rent agreement to serve a notice period then you can claim for your security deposit. In case the landlord fails to return the security deposit then you can send a legal notice for claiming the same.
