Either you get that agreement signed or you are free not to evict the premises rented to you, as the landlord was legally required by law to provide a proper notice atleast 2 months prior. Thus, if the eviction suit has been filed you can contest the same by stating the failure on the part of the landlord to give a proper notice.

To follow the Ld. Lawyer, who filed a suit for Injunction against Promoter as well as the son of the Landlord. In this Case, if you prove that you being a Tenant from since long and have enjoy the tenancy right then the Suit may go in favour of you.
