Tenant refusing to leave shop given on rent

05-Apr-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
My shop is on rent for more than 10 years. Now on requesting tenant to leave the shop, he says that he will not leave before 6 months. According to him notice period for shops is 6 months. Is it true ? I don't have knowledge about legal rules. There is no signed contract for the shop. What are the legal rules for this ? I want that shop as soon as possible. What should I do now?

give him legal notice for eviction within one month if he do not then file suit in rent control court
rent control laws are differ by states . and there has to be some grounds for eviction
