Tenant not paying rent since 4 months and not vacating, please advise

We have rented one room in our house to a family 17 yrs ago. Since last 4 months tenant is not paying rent and vacating room. We need to reconstruct our house. How should I proceed.
u can send him an urgent late rent notice includes many features and if does not reply for the same to you can issue a Eviction notice to your tenant.
If the tenant still does not pay the rent, you may approach the court under the Rent Control Act.
