Purchased a house but the tenant is not vacating property

We recently purchased a house, a lawyer is staying without agreetment more than 7 years. We gave 6 month time to vacate the house, but he is not ready to leave he threatens back us. Pls advice what should i do ?
Since the seller has not given you vacant & unencumbered possession, the case will have to handled with tact and patience. There are ways & means within the law for getting such property vacated. The occupant's being a lawyer and threats do not change the situation either way.
