Landlord not returning the Lease amount after the agreement expiry

28-Mar-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I am staying with family in an independent house at Ground floor(owner staying at First floor) in Bangalore for Lease since Mar-2011.Initially we took for 3 year lease (Mar-2011 to Mar-2014) for 7.5 Lakhs & 2500 as monthly rent and extended the lease prior for another 2 years(Mar-2014 to Mar-2016) by paying additional lease amount of 1.5 Laksh(total 9 Laksh) and 1000 as monthly rent. Even after the year of agreement expiry Landlord yet to return our Lease amount and also he is refusing to renew the agreement. He orally committing some time and continuously disobeying his words again and again. In April-2015 he asked us to move based on this we started our own construction and almost completed but we couldn’t move to our own house and we are struck. Kindly suggest how to approach this case.

First of all you need to send him a Legal notice asking for your money back failing which you can file a suit for recovery against your landlord demanding the amount payable to you along with interest. This is a common practice by the landlords these days you can also file a complaint with the police
