How to deal with non cooperative landlord

06-Jun-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
My dad had signed 11 months rental agreement with the house owner. Unfortunately my dad passed away few weeks back. We wanted to shift the house to nearby location of my uncle. It is only my mom my 6 months old daughter and myself staying here now. We wanted to vacate the house but the house owner is threatening us and saying that we cannot vacate. He is creating trouble for us each day. Could you please guide me on how to move further as it is only 2 ladies who are here.

in the rental agreement there would be a clause which provided the termination of agreement in case you want to vacate the premises, you can send him a notice that you shall vacate the premises in the time prescribed in the agreement. he cannot stop you from not vacating. in case he still threatens you, you can file a police complaint against him.
