Denying visitor entry in a rented apartment

16-Sep-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
What right does a security personnel or the housing association members have to deny me permission to a privately rented apartment where my fiancée lives? And also asking us to leave the lobby after 9.30pm when we were sitting there chatting? Those are fine if it was a hostel but this I feel is unfair. Please advise.

Each Society/ Association will have its Rules and Regulations. Since your fiancee has rented it, she will also be bound by the rules and regulations of the Association - she can obtain a copy from the landlord or from the Association itself. If there are no written rules, then you can challenge it by sending a representation to the Association. My advice is that your fiancee should have a conversation with the senior members/ administrators of the Association and explain the situation and find a solution so that the other residents don't become hostile towards her.
