Wrongful termination from the company how can I recover dues

06-Jul-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Most startups hire qualified professionals from top institutes only to show good pedigree to the board of investors without solid plans. I worked in one such well-funded startup with a compensation of cash + equity. I delivered successfully, sales numbers (proof!). When the company raised more money and acquired another company, they refused my equity stating my performance was not good. After a month, they said there is no role for you. Denied bonus. Are Indian labour laws strong enough for me to sue for wrongful termination and not paying whats due to me?

from your contents, it seems that you are not worker. in the circumstances you are governed be terms of appointment letter. as per that you can approach civil court as per indian contract act.
contact your local lawyer who is practicing in civil court, send legal notice through him. and then proceed as per his advice.

It is assumed that at the time you were hired by the start up you would have signed an employment contract/ appointment letter which would inter alia set out the terms of your compensation including payment of cash and equity component, bonus etc. If this is the case and the company has not paid you in accordance with your employment contract/appointment letter as also terminated your services in breach of the provisions of the employment contract/appointment letter, then you can institute a civil suit against the company for breach of contract and wrongful termination
