It depends on the nature of mistake you have committed, as per the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the principal is vicariously liable for the acts committed by the agent in the course of employment, and thereafter the principal can recover the amount from the agent as well if the mistake is of such nature that it imposes a binding duty on the agent.

What is that mistake which is making you to liable for such an huge amount. First of all go through the roles and responsibilities which bank has assigned you while appointing you. Go through the policy and guide lines of the bank towards its employees and under what circumstances employees will be held liable for the default done during discharge of duty has to be checked, if you fall under that category means of course bank will take action against you and you will be held responsible for the same.
