Will a suit filed against one post affect the promotion of another

I am working as steno cum clerk in an industry. I filed a suit seeking justice for consider me to promotion as Office Manager post. Now, there is another choice of promotion to the post of Labour Welfare Officer. I am having requisite qualification and seniority and parameters. In this circumstances, whether the suit filed for the promotion as Office Manger will affect the promotion for Labour Welfare officer. Before promotion are we need to vacate the suit field by the individual.
