Compassionate appointment is granted on various issues to the family member of the deceased employee who died in harness to cover up the sudden financial loss caused to the family. Every department has its own policy with regard to compassionate appointment.

Immediately after the demise of the concerned employee, the dependent will have to move an application to the Department for being appointed on compassionate terms in terms of the Dying in Harness Rules. If they fail to do the needful despite the representing, move to the High Court.
