What can be done before the FIR is logded for precaution?

my father who is a JE in jamshedpur. the office has charged him with some offence and the authority is saying to file a FIR against him. what steps of precautions can be taken. and can out of court settlement be done here?

Out of court settlement is always possible but you must appreciate that it has to be at the initiative of the complainant and not the accused(though I am not saying that your father is an accused)
What you can do now ,cannot be advised without knowing the nature of allegations.

FIR will only be lodged in the event they have filed a criminal complaint, if the same has been filed send a written reply to the complaint to provide the true facts of the incident. also a counter complaint can be filed, however the facts and circumstances are to be understood first
