What are the legal requiremnts before hiring driver for commercial car

I have a yellow board indica car for which i am hiring a driver so that i car run business on that car. what all legal aspects should be taken care if am i hiring driver so that i will not be in a trouble if driver do anything wrong like running away with car, met with an accident,or harming somebody else in accident etc.basically everything associated with driver. also i want to know do i need any permission to do this small car business.
You need to check his valid licence apart from that his check his previous records or with his boss regarding his driving. Any pending litigation against him. His valid document and you can also make an agreement with particulars filled in it regarding the tenure and in case of any misconduct who would be responsible
