What action to take against managment for unfair dismissal from work

23-Mar-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Dear Sirs, I have recently had my work contract terminated for the forthcoming academic year with absolutely no prior warning from work. I work as a foreign teacher (I'm English) at a major primary school in Mumbai. I have been told late (last Thursday 16th May) whilst at work via email that I was to be 'discontinued'. The recruitment process for finding new jobs in teaching for the new academic year is in February, I've now missed this window. I have been given no performance indicator that I needed to improve any area of my work - nothing. Just an email stating that based on a 'work appraisal' my services were to be 'discontinued' for the coming year. Do you think I have a case for unfair dismissal? Regards, Daniel

First you will have to look into the employment contract signed by you and your employer at the time of joining. Also, if the said termination is done without any prior notice and reason then you can complaint it to the work committee then labour court.
