26-Apr-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Respected Lawyers, I have been serve a notice by my previous employer regarding payment of compensation for leaving my previous job. Actually I have signed a bond to remain in employment for 2 years and due to unavoidable circumstances i have to leave the job now as per our bond they are asking me too pay compensation of 1,50,000 rupees, which was there in bond. And they have served me legal notice for it Now my doubt is 1) the compensation is too high so why should i pay it 2) am i legally bound to pay the compensation? 3) in court of law how i will get justice?
Private employment is totally governed by private agreement. To advice you on this we have to go through you the agreement signed between you and the company. If you have signed any bond you are bind by such bond. But to avoid payment of huge compensation we need to go through the agreement and find if there are any loopholes that you can use in your defence.
