Non acceptance of resignation letter. What can i do if i want to leave

27-Oct-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)

The exit policy of our company is a little weird. An employee can put down his/her resignation only through email to his supervisor, HOD and HR. Then it goes to the Owner of the company for approval. Once he approves it, then it is punched (applied) in the system and notice period starts from 1st day of the next month in which the resignation is approved by the owner of the company. If there is any delay in the approval for whatsoever reason, the notice period will get extended by a month. Does the resignation by an employee needs to be approved by the owner or employees are free to resign?

You cannot be stopped from quitting if you so choose. They can encourage you to remain (as long they do so in a proper manner). Your employer may think that you resigned after an argument, or when you were emotional distressed. They will then change your mind. 28-May-2023
