Maternity laws in educational institute

My institute is forcing me to pay my room rent and hotel fee while I am taking a maternity leave. They are not even deducting the leaves from my scholarship. Is this not breach of maternity law?
You will need to check on the rules and regulations of the institute. If the rules are not mentioned then the institute cannot charge the students. Make a representation to it and if it does not produce the desired result then you may move an appeal in the High Court.
