Karnataka Shops and Establishment Act The Shops and Establishment Act in Karnataka originally prohibited employing women worker after 8pm.
Measures to Protect Women Working in Night Shifts • 1.Special arrangements should be made for protection of female employees, where night shifts are common. 2. The amendment allows Companies to have female workers after 8pm, provided the Company takes care of the security and maintain safe work environment.3.Employers are mandated to provide transportation and other security measures for women employees working past 8pm
4.Employers should collect the identification documents from drivers,
5. GPS based monitoring of cabs/transport vehicles with panic buttons.
6. Security staff and drivers to be employed only after police verification

Hope to have clarified
