is it legal for company to make us work for more than 48 hrs a week

I work in a Power Company. My working hours are- Monday to Saturday: 9 AM to 6:30 PM (2nd and 4th Saturday half days). is it legal on company's behalf to make us work for more than 48 hours a week/ 9 hours a day? if not, what legal actions I can take?

1. The law does not provide any specific number of working hours for any industry. It requires payment for extra work to be paid to the worker. Now the extra work is supposed to be voluntary but then you wont be able to prove force.
2. The most relevant fact is the kind of employee that you are. If you are a contractual employee then all the law that governs you is there in the terms of your contract with the company.
