Illegal termination by MNC what can I do

18-Jun-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I was employed as General Manager with a Pvt Ltd company at India of a MNC since April 14. On Jan 16, they terminated me from my services citing practically no reason. I was posted at their Head office at Kolkata. I understand that there could be legal recourse if the job was a Govt one. Since this was a private company, there is not suitable law to challenge this termination. My question : Is there really any legal forum where I can challenge this termination? If so, where and how? What could be the approx cost for filing a case ? What could be the approx time of getting a verdict ?

Your employment with a private company is governed by the letter of appointment issued to your by the company and comes under the ambit of Contract Act. We would like to know few more things before we can advise you:

If you signed any contract of employment before joining the company?

If so, what were the terms of termination of employment in the contract?

If there is no provision stating clearly that your employment can be terminated at any time without issuing any notice then ofcourse you can take legal recourse. The first step of which will be to send the company a legal notice.

It is wrong to say that for private company there is no recourse against termination of job.
The cost would be dependent upon many factors for which I have to know the full details of the case.
There can not be made any prediction on time limit of the case as well since I am not aware of much details of the dispute.
