Hi, My mother is having one year of retirement. She is working in medical department as female health worker. As per the government retirement age group she would have retired in 2016 but it got extended to 2018. Now she is been transferred to a locality which is 74 km away from Bhubaneswar. My mother age is 60 years and she is not physically strong to travel long distance. So kindly suggest what will we do and how to put stay on order.

There is transfer rule for woman and it says a lady cannot be transferred to a place where there is no communication facility and she cannot be transfered to a far off place and at the verge of retirement the cases of transfer of the worker should be considered sympathitically.
This is a good case for stay order of the transfer order but you have to contact a good service matter chamber at the earliest.
My senior is a expert in service matter and he has handed similar cases like this and has succeded in giving relief to his client.

Since, enhancement of retirement age for Govt employees from 58 to 60 has been sanctioned by the Govt primarily keeping in view to retain experienced human resource for another 2 years also however considering the facts that quality of life also been improved giving rise to enhanced life span. There is a very least possibility to put stay order for the transfer of your dearest and esteemed mother specially her service in health sector, however it is advised your mother should first approach her competent authority to reconsider her transfer on health ground and only after exhausting departmental remedy you may file writ petition, however possibility of winning depending upon your mother's health condition, how better you are presenting her case with supporting documentary evidences/support
