How to get advance salary back from cook

I hired a cook 1 year ago. After 6-7 months of her service, she requested for some financial help for her father's treatment. I have given the amount (via online transaction) as advance salary of approx 3 months. She requested again for another financial help after two months as she said her husband is not well and need some cash for daily expenditure. I have again given some amount by online transaction. Her work quality reduced gradually and didn't come on time. I have warned several times and finally I denied the service and told her to give remaining balance, which was very few (amount for approx 15 days). She agreed that she will give it by end of month. After end of month she refused very rudely to give the amount. How to get advance salary back?
First, go to the lawyer and send her a legal notice for recovery your money, and mention all fact in the legal notice and warn her that if she doesn't return your money then you will file a criminal case against her ...after receiving the legal notice she will be lible to answer(reply) regarding your legal notice.
