How to gain compensation of early stoppage of contract

27-May-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I am a UK Chartered Engineer and came to Delhi in October 2016 on a business visa to work on a one year contract for a Dubai based company called CIMS Consultancy to work as project director on the new Saudi Embassy complex. After six months CIMS stopped my contract without due two months notice. I would like to take CIMS to the Delhi courts to claim compensation for the early stoppage of my contract. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you

If your contract has a specific jurisdiction wherein the subject matter has to be taken up by the both parties then it will be that jurisdiction where you should approach first. Secondly if you and your company both are not the permanent resident of this country then again you will face the jurisdiction issue.
But still you may bring up this matter before the courts in Delhi, India provided you are ready to take the risk of your petition getting dismissed on the issue of jurisdiction.

You will have to first serve a legal notice upon them through advocate asking for compensation and damages. Thereafter, if they fail to compensate, you will have to file a suit for recovery for the amount claimed.
