How to find out welfare committee has completed their part of duty

22-Feb-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)

I had employed a girl from my home town to help us with taking care of our 18 month old child. She ran away from our house couple of days ago and has been found by the rail police. Rail police has contacted the local Child Welfare Committee. What should I do to ensure that the domestic help is sent back to her home town and is reunited with her parents.

You will need to approach the CWC and give them a letter in writing stating such facts. As such, nor formal application can be made before the CWC, however, they usually re-unite children with their parents within a few days unless the parents are physically abusive etc. However, if you feel the CWC is not discharging its duties properly, you may file a writ petition before he High Court to direct the CWC to do so.
