Ex company asking for compensation in lieu of notice period what to do

Sir, I worked one of the company call Premier Veg Oil Consultants Pvt for one month.I left the company due to manager behavior was (arrogant and short temper) make me disturb.So I cannot want to continue my job due to this reason.I mail my resign to Premier Veg Oil Consultants Pvt after completed one month. In the contract letter there is some 15 day notice period lieu I have to serve.so I cannot serve that notice period.Now they want money back for 15 day....!as I have stated 9 may to 31 may 2016(near about 23 days). I worked there and they have paid for that.I cannot carry any think (like

Company will not issue Relieving Letter to you if you don't pay 15 days amount. Filing a case for compensation is a remote possibility. I am assuming that they have not made you sign any agreement which says that if you fail to serve in notice period and also don't pay compensation, they have right to file a case before Civil Court. Nothing can be said further till we see your Contract Letter.
