Employer paying less amount, what can be done ?

My employer abruptly changed my payment structure and paid me a lesser amount then what he was supposed to pay. I need legal advice regarding that.

Yes, employers may cut an employee's wages or salary at will, without notice, regardless of the employee's position, except in the following two situations:

* there is an employment contract, including a union agreement, guaranteeing a certain pay

* there is provable employment discrimination (against a race, religion, gender, age over 40, disability status, etc.) in terms of who gets the pay cut

But barring a contract or discrimination, just as you could be fired at will, without notice, your pay can be cut.

Your query is unclear. You haven't given details about how were you paid , where and how has he changed the structure,etc. In case your employer is paying you less amount, you can approach the labour court for payment of arrears of salary under sec 33 c(2) of the ida
