Employer not accepting my resignation what can I do

23-Jun-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Hi. I have given a termination notice (resignation) to my employer. As per the company policy I have to server 2 months notice period. I am fine with this and also ready to serve 2 months notice period as per the Company policy. But my manager has informed to me through email that my resignation has not accepted and I cannot leave for another 6 months because their project will have an adverse impact due to my exit. My question is that can they legally do this though the employment contract terms says that notice period is 2 months. Thank you.

This would depend on the terms of your employment contract/letter of appointment. If as per your employment contract/letter of appointment you can terminate your employment without any reason or cause by giving 2 months written notice, then the company cannot force you to stay.
