Employee very abusive and threatening what can be done

13-Jan-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Dear Ma'am/Sir, We are a start-up based in Bangalore. We have a Senior employee has become very abusive for which he has been reprimanded but not sacked. He has taken the office laptop with him even when asked to leave it behind and has not given any resignation letter. He has threatened the management for dire consequences where he said he will use his brother a Police Inspector to file false charges and haul us off to the police station. He also threatened to use his father a builder who has connections with police, bureaucrats and politicians to settle scores. We have not cut any pay and have paid all his dues till date. We request your kind advise and help With best regards

Don't worry about threating and all, just you give a notice to him stating that all your needs been full filled and what happened earlier, or to consult me to giving notice and file suit against him as criminal case after issuing legal notice. Consult more.

If this employee has not been attending office regularly, and if his performance appraisal is not positive - you as the management can relieve him of his duties AFTER following the existing rules and regulations within your company as well as the labour laws. Considering what you have mentioned in your query, he seems like a trouble-maker. I strongly advise you to carefully word the 'termination of employment' letter so as to prevent further legal complications for you as some laws are employee-centric.
