COMPANY HAS FILED CASE FOR ABSCONDING

Advanced thanks for any legal expert who answers my query.
I am lower middle class guy who completed my schooling with free school seat on humanitarian grounds as I was from poor background & my mom was heart patient.After completion got into diploma in govt college wit merit.Completed diploma as topper & was campus picked for a Chemical Firm.I had a bond for 3 years & company was in Mangalore.Due my mother illness & other reason I had break bond.After nearly 1.5 years company sends a legal notice.I had to seek legal aide so I contacted an legal expert in Mangalore.Ay first my lawyer seeing my pathetic situation said he will not charge any fee & will take only paper work charges.He now took over 10K & still says the case is going on & on.But he doesn't reveal the progress and status of case.I understand it his job.Just to add-on the company was taken over & heard that all there legal battle on employees they took back.
So please help me how can I know my case status & further act
Whether you have replied to the legal notice sent by your employer through your advocate and what was the allegation they have made. What is your offer letter's term and conditions is there any clause which helps you to cancel the bond in any exceptional circumstances ? who approached court first and what kind of case it is filed in which court. If you are not happy with your advocate means you can change your advocate. About checking case status you can go to the concerned court pending branch and you can check or otherwise even in court website by putting your case number you can check the case status.
