16-Jul-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I signed work agreement today it says work for 3 years or pay 3 lakhs I didn't give any cheque. Do company takes any legal action if I didn't join?
Generally both the consenting party to an agreement is liable for due compliance of terms of the agreement.
However if it is found that the terms of the agreement is unconscionable, unfair or one sided then its terms is not binding on the aggrieved person.
As per your query, if you had signed a bond agreeing to the terms and conditions you have specified in your question then you are liable to pay the amount agreed upon. If you do not deposit the same then the company can take legal action against you.
