Can authority suspend me if arrested for 498A case

I was arrested on 11th sept 2012 for 498A case and got bail on 16.11.2012 and i was in police custody not in jail.Next day i went to my office to join with every documents.but the authority suspended me on that day(17.11.2012) and after almost one month the authority asked me to join in my work place.For that day I am working in the office still today.In this moment I have listened that the authority is tring to set up an inquiry committee to make suspend again.plz inform me the rule about this matter.

 A government employee is liable to be placed under suspension if he remains in custody for more than 48 hours.

Your arrest in connection with a 498A case does not, prima facie, have anything to do with your job, and the management's suspension and inquiry appears to be illegal. However, this can only be determined after taking a proper look at the terms and conditions of your employment. If your conditions of employment does not have anything in this regard, you can file a suit against your employers.
