Bank terminated service of probationery clerk
30-Apr-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Can a nationalised bank terminate service of newly recruited clerk in probation period after extending probation period by playing office politics and alleging that his work/conduct is not satisfactory and not up to the standard required by the bank. As it is mentioned in appointment letter that "Your confirmation in bank will be subject to your attaining the standards required by the bank failing which the bank may at its discretion extend the probation period or terminate your service. If bank terminate then what legal action can be taken to reinstate the service.
Banks have the right to terminate the employee during the probation, if he/she does not fit the position. As such, the probationary officer shall be required to work at 2-3 branches during the probation period.
