After resignation bank asking for notice period. Nothing in contract.

16-Oct-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)

I joined as a PO in punjab and sind bank. After joining the branch I was not happy and send them my resignation letter with a DD for 50000/- as per the bond submitted with them. I resigned just working for three days with PSB Got a reply from the bank that I need to serve three month notice period or pay the salary for 3months. I was not aware of this as it was not mentioned in the bond and also in the appointment letter. But the laws which governs them was mentioned with no explanations in the bond and also in the letter. What can I do now?

If the bond stipulates the notice period of 3 months, then you have no option and is required to serve the notice period,.

However if nothing is specified in appointment letter or bond then you can leave the job.
