Passport and Visa expired overstayed for 2+ years what can I do

Hi, I am an Indian woman married to a French man. My husband was issued an x visa after our marriage. Right now we are in a fix as his visa and passport have both expired since more than 2 years. We will seek the help of the French embassy to get the passport renewed. I am wondering if it is possible to not have him deported and get a new visa from the MHA? Should I hire a lawyer and how much could that cost? Any help would be highly appreciated.
You need to have your X visa converted into OCI Card immediately and thereafter your husband will not require to have Visa for coming to India. Please contact a lawyer immediately who can assist you and take care for offence of overstaying in India by your husband despite having expired Visa. Need to contact with FRRO as well.
