Who will be the legal heirs when brother and his wife died

My brother in law died leaving his property to his wife who died intestate.we belong to north malabar hindu family. My brother in law and his wife had no children.who would be the rightful heirs to both their movable and immovable property.In case there are nominees to fixed deposits will the legal heirs be able to make a claim on the same.

Yes the nominees will get the right check about the same for movables like shares, bank account deposit etc. When it is to related to immovable if it is a self acquired property of your brother-in-law then his immediate kith and kin can claim otherwise if it is belong to his wife then her immediate relatives can claim and it is left to the discretion of court. Even otherwise in Kerala as Matriarchal law is applicable in inheritance you have to check with the local lawyer once. You have not mentioned about your bro-in-law's siblings etc and also inheritance detail of the property.
