What is the procedure for adoption of a child legally
22-Feb-2023 (In Family Law)
Hi Guys, We have taken a just born Girl from one unknown parents(Who were not relative to my wife nor me) as they do not want to keep her. Then we went to register office and register on 50 Rs note. Via lawyer. No govt agencies like Cara where involved in it nor we have notified them. Now I need to know this Is legal or not? As I am reading the Cara rules which says, you cannot even pick the baby lying on road without informing them or police. Now I am confused what to do ??? Regards RJ
Deed of adoption is necessary for adopting child. It has to be signed by the biological parents. In addition it has to be registered.
The birth certificate would reflect the name of biological parents. If you want the name of adopted parents to be reflected you have to make application to magistrate obtain court order then only will changes be reflected in birth certificate.
Magistrate won’t pass an order unless there is valid adoption deed.

No you can't pick or adopt any child without legal process if you want adopt any kids then you register the adoption and if you pick the any kid then you inform to police or government child support department etc. But department also will be inform to police but they can to your handover the kid after registration.
