Any form of disrespect or treating the woman without basic courtesy will amount to be a Domestic Violence and Domestic Violence may not be only in the form of physical violence but it could be even mentally disturbing the woman or threatening her modesty. So the affected woman may try to settle the issue through her family elders but if things dont turn in the right way as a first step she has to make a proper complaint to the local police station.

She can approach the courts under the anti domestic violence law and also under the various provisions of the dowry act. There are a lot of options available to her. Please move expeditiously though.

She can file a case under domestic violence act and also file the complaint basis the caw cell in this regard..
