If you are unmarried then, Yes you can adopt as per provisions of
Hindu Adoption and Maintenance act ,
Only unmarried Hindu women can adopt a child , married women can only give consent to her husband for an adoption . Child must be Hindu and below 16 years and there must not be a child living under parentship belongs to the same sex of the would-be adoptive child. There are also some minor requisites so for more details consult an Advocate .

You are eligible under certain circumstances where you should be physically and mentally stable and financially capable to maintain the adoptive child. Though you are female you can adopt any gender of child. But the minimum age difference between you and the child shall not be less than twenty five years.
