Senior Citizen in Confinement of daughter-in-law

19-Apr-2023 (In Family Law)
A greedy daughter in law of 2 & half years enticed family's simple & only son (US citizen) and created serious misunderstandings amongst family members. That got their only house fraudulently transferred in her husband's name 8 months ago. The other members were grandmother (expired 3 months ago), father, mother & sister.(US citizen). Father and mother live on different floors of now son's owned house. The reigns of the father and house are in daughter in law's hands. She has created fear in father in law's mind and confined him. He is too scared to go out to socialize now (62 yrs age). After getting the house, she is targeting his Bank FD's worth 2 crores. No one is allowed to visit him due to strict monitoring by CCTV, recently installed Electronic locks &Thick iron grills. Servants get fired if speak to others. This is a scene straight out of crime serial Savdhan India. I am (his separately living wife) scared too. How can I anonymously help him not to be defrauded of his money also.

You can file an FIR of wrongful confinement with the police authorities and if they don't take any action then you can approach an NGO helping elderly. He has the right to go outside and do anything as he pleases and cannot be stopped from doing so. More details might me required to correctly guide you, hence, it is better you fix an appointment with an Advocate and discuss with him/her in detail.

Your situation is pretty serious. You may file a complaint stating all the facts and circumstance therein with the police. But you want it to be anonymous, so the most you could do is make a call on 100 number telling them the same. But i dont think there is anything to be scared of, he needs your help so you should come forward to help him out. You should act swiftly without wasting any more time. But make sure that he supports your version in front of police otherwise if he refuses all the sufferings then police will not be able to take any legal action.
